What
Do You Expect?
Do you believe that you always have bad luck? Does life always have a way of creating difficult situations for you? If you answered yes to these questions then you probably always expect things to go wrong. Before you even get started, you expect to fail. If playing a game you expect to lose. If interviewing for a promotion or a new job, you expect to be turned down. You probably take the attitude of ‘hope for the best, but expect the worst’. As the adage goes – then you are not too disappointed.

Adopting
the right attitude |
The mind cannot differentiate between ‘hope for the best’ and at the same time ‘expect the worst’. The mind can only focus on one thing at a time and when you finish the thought – ‘expect the worst’, your mind (or subconscious) will help you figure out how to bring that thought to fruition.

Positive
attitudes create |
I read somewhere that when you focus on what
you want in a positive manner, the ‘cosmic forces’ of the universe will take
over and lead you in that direction. I’m
not sure if it is cosmic forces, divine intervention, or just plain luck, but
from my experience, there is definitely something at work there.
I firmly believe that if you expect to lose, you will lose more often
than not and that if you expect to win, you will win more often than not.
There are no guarantees in life and you cannot always win at everything you chose to do. But you can definitely influence the outcome of most events by having a high level of expectation about yourself and your abilities. You will experience disappointment at times, but these are life experiences that teach us how to grow and learn more about ourselves.
