What's Bugging You?

Is there something that bothers you everyday?  Do you frequently catch yourself saying 'I hate that!' or 'that makes me mad'?  If you added it all up, how much time would you guess that you focus on things that you dislike or that irritate you.

All time spent being angry
is time lost not being happy.
- Mexican Proverb

It takes a lot of energy to dislike or hate something or somebody.  This is energy you could be expending on something more positive, like your relationships or your career.  Allowing these frustrations to dominate your thoughts is draining you of a precious resource that you can't afford to waste.  By not placing these irritations into proper perspective, you are robbing yourself of 'peace of mind'.

People are just about as happy
as they make up their minds to be.
- Abraham Lincoln.

Dr. Richard Carlson says in his book 'Don't Sweat The Small Stuff ... And Its All Small Stuff', that 'rather than being content and grateful for what we have, we are focused on what's wrong with something and our need to fix it'.

What are you focusing on that is preventing you from being content and grateful for what you have?  If you want peace of mind, stop sweating the small stuff and focus on enjoying the 'important stuff'!

- Joe Freeman

The motivation for all personal behavior
is to produce a sense of "FEEL GOOD,"
a sense of inner peace and well being.
- Sidney Madwed
